Mindy, my wife, was inspired to plant some herbs since we visited my parents in Puerto Rico so we went to a local nursery yesterday and picked out some herbs to plant. A problem arises, we have our house on the market so we had to plant all of these herbs in pots and I’m not sure if this will effect how they grow so we’ll see what happens. I’m excited and Mindy and Audrey had a blast planting these (minus the whole sunburn thing). I hope they grow quickly so I can start cooking with them!!! I’m especially excited about the peppers, ERIC RIVERA’S PIQUE SAUCE HERE I COME!!
Here is a list of what was planted:
Peppers- Pimento, Super Chili, Serrano, and Cayenne
Oregano- Golden, Herb Verregated, Italian, Greek
Thyme- Silver and Lemon
Dwarf Curry
Chives
Cilantro
Basil and Thai Basil
BBQ Rosemary and Regular Rosemary
Parsley
Pineapple Mint

Nice. I live in an apartment, so the only thing I can plant is a herb box. But at least it’s something. It’ll be neat to have some fresh herbs. Saves money too. lol
I love fresh herbs. Planting them in containers is the best way to go. They grow healthier and of course they look so pretty on your deck. Now, don’t forget the watering part. Check DIY for watering systems for planters. Water your plants in the morning before 9:00 am, best time.
I love the pictures.
Uh oh. I better get out there and water them now!
I have had good success with herbs in pots. I have never done peppers on pots, but I have grown tomatoes in pots with some success. Good Luck! GREG
If I get one pepper out of the four plants then I’m happy!
