I just got Ad Hoc! Sir Thomas was just in town on Monday, too -- were you there? I seemed to have missed introducing myself to freakin' EVERYONE that night, I'm such a hopeless dweeb. But the book is scrumptious. I do like the cooking tips, and it's weird to see him smile and be a bit silly with the photos, but I guess that's why it's supposed to be more laid back and casual. French Laundry was a great inspiration book for trying new methods, but I think for Ad Hoc, I'd do whole meals using it.
