(The Dog and The Linguica special)
A friend of mine that moved to Seattle from Chicago told me about a magnificent hot dog place that I should try when I moved to Chicago. ”What’s the name of it again?” “Hot Doug’s, it’s awesome they have a foie gras dog and tons of specials and it’s just awesome”. ”I have to f’ing go there”.
Today was the day……oh, I went there. It was amazing and I don’t know how to exactly say this but it was the best hot dog experience of my life. No frills, no gimmicks, just tons of great sausage (laugh it up all you want).
There were so many amazing choices. I wanted to try the foie gras dog but I figured I would save it until Mindy gets here in December, it will be my birthday present to myself, haha.
James, you were right Hot Doug’s is awesome.

If you thought Hot Doug’s was good, you really have to try Franks n’ Dawgs. It is truly awesome. Added bonus = walking distance from Alinea.
I was just going to comment that Franks n’ Dawgs is at the top of my list when I finally make it to Chicago for a foodie holiday but now I can add Doug’s to that list as well….one of my very first posts was about the gourmet dog trend!
I have heard alot about them before. The foie dog sounds bananas!
I have seen this Hot Dog Shop on the foodnetwork.. where they talked about the best hot dog ever.. Pretty cool you getting to walk in and get a great dog… And can hardly wait to hear about that foie dog…
