I would like to be selected as the 2010 POM Featured Blogger. I don’t know what else I need to do in order to make it clear that this is something that I am very capable of. P.B.& J. Of course it’s a little more than that

November 17, 2009 by ericriveracooks

It’s National Pomegranate Month so I’m pulling out all the stops. This is my second post featuring pomegranates for this celebration of the all mighty POM Wonderful Pomegranates. Lynda Resnick (the owner of POM) sent me a copy of her book and it inspired me to just go full bore with my ideas and not worry about what anyone else thinks. She famously “overpaid” for Jackie Kennedy’s pearl necklace. She paid $211,000 for it at auction but then came up […]

How to quickly open a Pomegranate: Featuring Tom the Pom (video)

November 8, 2009 by ericriveracooks

It’s National Pomegranate Month so I’m doing my best to show you how easy/quick it is to open a pomegranate.  I tried my best to get out as many arils as possible so I think I did a great job…..it could be faster but that will happen with more practice. Thanks again to POM! Eric

The Adventures of Tom the POM: Helping me prep some food at home

October 23, 2009 by ericriveracooks

I’m prepping for a 7 course dinner tomorrow at my house so Tom said he would help me out. He’s been a little busy visiting some of his lady friends at the Pom stands but he came home to help out. I think he has a hot date tonight because he was asking me about romantic places to dine in Seattle. Get ‘em Tom!!!

The Adventures of Tom the Pom: Seattle

October 22, 2009 by ericriveracooks

Tom the Pom gave me a great tour of his orchard and  processing plant so I decided to give him a tour of Seattle/Bellevue. The first stop was Bellevue because I had to show him where I worked. He thought downtown was nice but was amazed when he saw the fall colors Tom is a fall type of guy (pomegranates are harvested during the fall season) so it was nice for him to see other colors than just green and […]

Day 2 of the Pom Experience: Come Fly With Me, Part Deux (with video goodness)

October 22, 2009 by ericriveracooks

I’m home now so get ready for the good stuff from my trip to the POM pomegranate orchards.  While I was there I had to keep pinching myself to make sure I wasn’t in a dream…..after a few bruises I snapped out of it and so I decided I wanted to cover this event the best I could by trying to bring you along with me. How am I going to do this? Well, with a ton of photos, videos […]

Day 2 of the POM Experience: Come fly with me!

October 20, 2009 by ericriveracooks

I have a video that was uploading but the internet service in the hotel does not like 600MB HD uploads…..I wish I could show you how amazing the flyover was. I am working on a rather large post for day two of my POMcation so this is a very short version! Tonight we will be eating at a restaurant that has created a menu featuring pomegranates in each course. I am so excited to see what the Chef has in […]
